WWE Superstar Alexa Happiness still mourns the death of her beloved pet pig – but will honor her memory by making sure that no other animal suffers like it did.
As we previously reported, Alexa’s pig Larry-Steve suffered a medical emergency last week – but she couldn’t find a vet in her area who would treat the animal.
Due to the lack of medical care, Larry-Steve is dead … a day before his 4th birthday.
Alexa tells TMZ Sports that she is still very shaken by the whole situation – but now feels motivated to save other animals in similar situations.
“We just know that unfortunately there aren’t enough vets who can handle pigs or tools to be able to help larger animals,” Bliss told us at LAX.
Bliss says she has been contacted by a group of pet owners who have encountered similar issues with their larger non-traditional pets and feels obligated to help.
So far, Bliss says she has raised over $ 16,000 for a Florida pig rescue and will name her after her late pet.
“They’re building a secluded pigsty for the winter and it’s going to be called The Larry-Steve Built House.”
Alexa says she isn’t sure whether she will have another pet pig – she is still in great emotional pain – but will remain deeply involved in the animal community.
“I would love to continue saving animals and pigs, especially because they are very emotionally intelligent. They have the learning ability and understanding of a 3 year old. They can feel heartache. and cry real tears. “
“People don’t know they’re actually super emotional and super smart. I’m fascinated by pigs and love having Larry with me.”
