A woman climbed into an alligator pit with her young son, who was walking freely near dozens of alligators while she tried to retrieve her wallet … and a group of children watched in horror.
The wild scene took place at Safari North Wildlife Park in Brainerd, Minnesota, with amazed spectators watching the mother and son risking their lives and their bodies. As you can see, the woman’s wallet was floating in the middle of a small pond on Saturday, full of alligators … and her daring son was dangerously excited to get it back.
The kid came empty, but Mom barged in to do the rescue – and the only smart move she made was to find a way to distract the sharp-toothed animals long enough to grab her floating wallet.
Luckily the mother and son survived, so we can all laugh now at someone else’s kid screaming “it happens” to sum up the adventure.
But the zoo does not laugh.
Sources close to the wildlife park tell us that staff members were unaware of the incident until the video began to go viral, and the parks in the park are very disrupted. We are told that the zoo wants to press charges against the woman for endangering the child, if she is identified.
One thing in particular ruffling the feathers of the zoo – we’re told the park has fences and signs not only to protect guests, but animals as well.
