White Kenosha, WI Cop Shoots Unarmed Black Man Seven Times
A white policeman in Kenosha, Wisconsin opened fire on an unarmed black man who was simply walking away from him – shooting him at point blank range seven times … and it’s all on video.
The shooting involving a police officer took place near 40th and 28th avenues on Sunday – where witnesses said the victim was simply interrupting a fight when cops were called to the scene. It’s unclear what happened from there, but this video captures the crucial 20 seconds.
You see the man walking away from some officers … who seem to tell him to stop, the guns. He walks away from a car in a non-threatening manner, opens the door and tries to get inside. One of the cops grabs his shirt and, for some inexplicable reason, unloads seven rounds at arm’s length. The victim was airlifted to hospital and listed as being in serious condition.
The protests are now increasing by the minute. Many are calling for the speedy arrest of the officer who fired the shots.
While the situation is still very fluid, it appears to be a downright inexcusable act of police brutality. Although the man disobeyed orders, he was non-violent, non-threatening, unarmed, and there was no attempt to restrain him in the vehicle.
According to information on the ground, the State Department of Justice is already taking charge of the investigation. Kenosha PD, for her part, says officers on the scene provided immediate assistance – but also note that they immediately transferred the matter to outside agencies.
