Here we are in 2021, but Vanilla ice cream says the ’90s still have a hold on him because he says it was the best decade ever … before computers ruined the world.
We had the rapper turned historian on the set of an LA music video in Los Angeles – a ’90s throwback that we’ll get to shortly, but first… Ice has to go after the “lost generation” of the pop culture.
According to Vanilla Ice … this was the last decade where fashion and music played each other, and people created “cool” stuff that is still in fashion to this day.
He points to the invention of the iPhone being the main culprit in the murder of pop culture – although it’s a few years away, it actually came out in 2007, not 2004 – and provides evidence to back up his argument. .
Ice goes on with a statement that might make you question everything, however… he says his kids think he’s cool.
Believe it or not, the guy has understandably a lot of affection for the ’90s – especially a certain video store chain – and he’s ready to return it all.
Speaking of which … The music video for Vanilla Ice was for a parody remix of Mr. Mix-A-Lot‘s “Baby is back”. You won’t hear “Baby Got Buns” on the radio, however … it’s for a Bar-S hot dog business.
Capitalism … big in the 90s, still big in the 21st century.
