A video of two women thrown from a swing at the edge of a 6,000 foot cliff AND SURVIVOR could make you say 2 things – thank goodness but also … HOW?!?
Watch this heartbreaking clip from last June – which just surfaced – of what appears to be a group of tourists visiting Russia’s Sulak Canyon near Dagestan … whose bottom is just over a mile in Below where these people had to have a view just before things fell … thousands of feet above sea level.
For some reason, it looks like someone has set up a swing right on the ledge – where people can step onto the bench and be pushed to the side of the canyon for a better view of what’s below. Sounds good in theory … that is, until you see what happened next.
The two ladies throw themselves into the seat – which seems to be connected to the swing by a few chains – then a man begins to give them a few pushes to gain momentum… and catapult himself further and further over the edge. Everything seems to be going well, at first, until their last move forward.
Suddenly one of the chains breaks, and the two women literally get thrown from the seat and fall … and fall. It’s absolutely terrifying – and you can tell by the way people reacted around them. The video cuts out shortly after, but there is a happy ending.
Reports say there was a wooden platform just under the ledge here – good thought for whoever put it there – and these women landed safely on it not too far below … suffering from minor injuries and successfully rescuing family members.
It’s a miracle they lived to tell the story … because things could easily have turned sour. A suggestion from us: throw in some New York-style sights and drop the damn swing!
