Travis Scott could act like he didn’t know how bad things were going at this year’s Astroworld Fest – but his own posts and lyrics demonstrate… the dude knew how his fans had fallen and often encouraged them to risk their safety.
There are a number of still photos Trav has posted to his Instagram account over the years that show his fans injured to varying degrees … of what appears to be just attending his concerts.
Most of the time it brought to light a certain individual who was hurt… and seemed to glorify and glorify him, with captions like… “SHE BROKEN HER HAND AND SHE DON’T GIVE A *** !!! ” or “THIS IS NOT A SHOW UNTIL SOMEONE passes out.”
Here is another which is particularly noteworthy in light of this. the weekend tragedy – it’s a message from a young man lying on the floor, presumably from one of Travis’s shows, with the rapper writing, “TO THE KID NOT SURVEV THE RODEO. UR A HERO IN MU BOOK.”
BTW, a lot of those posts are still on the guy’s IG page from this post… which is even more telling. Frankly, this whole “rage” mentality is part of Travis’ brand, image and artistic identity … except now people see how dangerous and reckless it is.
Travis has gotten into trouble in the past for encouraging people to rush onto the stage. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to reckless driving charges resulting from an incident in Lollapalooza. In 2017, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after law enforcement said he caused a riot during a show in Arkansas.
Put aside the fact that he has been arrested / cited at least twice for inciting a riot. The real criticism doesn’t necessarily lie in the fact that he thrills his fans… but more so, that he goes too far and, apparently, more often than not, refuses to lower the temperature in the room. This has led to a lot of his fans getting injured in his presence. And, even when he recognizes an injured person on the spot, he is often cold and unresponsive.
The same scrutiny applies to this year’s Astroworld Fest – namely, there seem to have been times he acknowledged people were going down, but didn’t stop things.
In one case that was captured on video from multiple angles, Travis clearly sees the ambulance cart making its way through the crowd, pulls to a halt, gets approached by guys he’s chasing… then walks away. sets to entice the crowd.
Now is the big question … what did Travis Scott know … and when? He pretends he was not aware people were dying at the show that night and didn’t realize the gravity of the situation.
But frankly, some people see these videos and think otherwise.
