TikTok Looking To Hire 3,000 Engineers In The Next 3 Years
According to Reuters, TikTok is looking to hire 3,000 engineers over the next three years as it accelerates its expansion plans.
Engineers will be from Europe, Canada and Singapore.
“To support our rapid global growth, we plan to continue to expand TikTok’s global engineering team, including adding approximately 3,000 engineers in Canada, Europe, Singapore and the United States, over the three next few years, ”said a spokesperson for TikTok.
Currently, TikTok is recruiting for 138 positions in Singapore.
Rapid expansion of TikTok
Last month, it was reported that ByteDance – the owner of Chinese video-sharing app TikTok – is planning to make Singapore its foothold for the rest of Asia as part of its global expansion.
The Beijing-based company is looking to spend billions in Singapore and is also recruiting aggressively, as it plans to add hundreds of jobs over the next three years.
To facilitate its expansion plans in Singapore, the popular short video platform has signed a rental agreement for three floors at One Raffles Quay.
Covering over 60,000 square feet, the new ByteDance office is located in a prime location in Singapore’s central business district.
It is likely that ByteDance will kick off a new wave of recruiting in Singapore soon, as it is also among the companies competing for a digital banking license here.
The pivot to Singapore follows ByteDance’s conflicted relationship with the Trump administration.
However, the United States will remain one of the company’s engineering hubs and hire more staff, the TikTok spokesperson said.
