The game felt kind of hurt after being kicked out of Super Bowl halftime show in his hometown… LA rapper saying he was ‘hurt’ Dr.Dre didn’t hit him to play.
Super Bowl LVI was basically LA-themed — taking place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. — with the Rams representing the NFC. Most LA halftime artists… including LA rappers Dre, Snoop Doggand Kendrick Lamar.
But, The Game — a Los Angeles native who still represents the city — wasn’t included in the lineup…something the 46-year-old rapper said wasn’t fair while appearing on the “I Am Athlete” podcast. .
“The f****** Rams were at the Super Bowl bro!” The game said, “LA, LA, LA all around the Super Bowl and I don’t get the call. I was hurt by this.”
“Dre should have called and said why. I would have understood that because I talk to Dre. I talk to Dre often and I just know if I was Dre and he was Game then he would have been up there . It’s just This is LA and I’m LA, I’m on the street.”
What made Game even more upset was the fact that Eminem and 50 cents have to happen… when they weren’t even born and raised in Los Angeles.
“Snoop is an icon. Dre is an icon. Em is an icon, but Em is not from LA 50 is not from LA,” Game said.
“I don’t take anything away from the fact that they were in the Super Bowl, but LA n***** wouldn’t have been in the Super Bowl in Detroit or the Super Bowl in New York. It just wouldn’t have happened. “
Even though Game’s feelings were hurt, he understands why he didn’t get the call – he’s “not a safe performer.”
“You don’t know what Game is going to do when he gets up there,” Game said, “They went with the sure artists.”
But, Game lets the past slide — saying that ultimately it was a win for LA and a win for the culture.
