Actor and television host Terrence J. wants businesses across the country to adapt to the times and finally count June 19 as a day away from the office.
Terrence was at a Juneteenth Foundation ceremony in DC on Thursday, and says he thinks businesses missing out need to step up – noting that the new federal holiday is a big part of American culture.
He says companies need to take a step back to see where society is at right now to understand why this is so crucial… June 19 will mark the second year of its federal recognition, but not all companies count it like a day off.
As for other holidays, the guy thinks there are some that get a little too much attention…I won’t say which ones, but he still has Juneteenth in mind.
He has his thoughts on the recent deaf marketing in stores too… Terrence is excited for the recognition of Juneteenth, but hopes businesses can learn to represent the day in a more respectful way.
As we reported, Walmart had to pull their ice cream “celebration edition” and apologize after the Twitter mob came looking for them… the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis also had hot water after offering a “June 19 watermelon salad”.
