Nikolas cruz – the gunman responsible for the murder of 17 people at high school Marjory Stoneman Douglas – faces new charges for attacking a prison guard… and the video showing it all is frightening.
Cruz was captured on surveillance video, released in court on Wednesday, in an all-out fight with a Broward County jail guard. Just before the attack, which took place in 2018 – but which has just been revealed – Cruz can be seen circling around with his head down.
Cruz and the guard then seem to be exchanging words… the guard declared to the court that he had told Cruz not to drag his feet so as not to damage his prison sandals. Cruz seems to knock him down with both hands then charges on him. They fight a little before Cruz throws heymakers at them.
Finally, the guard takes control, after taking out his taser, and Cruz finds himself on the ground and placed in police custody. It does not appear that the stun gun was deployed.
Cruz was charged with assault and battery as a result of the incident. The altercation in prison would be tried separately from its prosecution first degree murder Case.
Cruz’s lawyers say that the prison guard mistreated Cruz and that he provoked the attack.
Cruz has been charged with 34 counts for the Parkland shooting – 17 premeditated murders and 17 attempted murders. Prosecutors are ask for the death penalty for the school massacre.
