Steve Martin Finds a Way to Avoid Being Anonymous in Masked Pandemic
Steve martin feels like he’s losing a part of himself when he goes out in public while having to wear a mask … so he found a hilarious way to make sure he was identified while still being safe.
The legendary comedian posted a selfie on Saturday morning in a surgical mask with a pair of shades … and a little homemade nameplate he put on his head that certifies people will know who he is while protecting a party. of his face because of COVID.
He writes: “I always wear a mask when I go out. But something about it left me anxious and unstable. I thought about the problem, I solved it and here is the solution.”
Of course … there’s an arrow pointing down, just so you don’t get confused about who Steve Martin is. It’s comedy gold, and it’s also reminiscent of his old arrow gag in his head that he used to do when he started out. The man clearly hasn’t lost his sense of humor.
Funny enough, other celebrities participated in the joke as well … including the Star Trek star George takei and Ice-T. George says he tried this too, but because he did it word for word … no dice.
Ice also seemed to enjoy social commentary, especially for people who feel like they can’t interact with people the way they do with a mask … or who feel anonymous and don’t look alike. Hey, if you mind … do what SM did.
A name tag would probably be the easiest route here – but it wouldn’t be as much fun now, right?
