Stephane Colbert fully understands why its employees, including Triumph the Insult Comic Dognow have rap records with the capitol police…but he’s really amused that they’re being compared to the january 6 insurgents.
Colbert dove into the big story around his office on Monday night’s episode of “The Late Show” … explaining everything that led up to the big bust in Washington. As we pointed out, the cops arrested 9 of his employees — including Robert Smigelwho usually has his hand up Triumph’s ass – as they recorded tracks Thursday night in the hallways of the Congressional offices.
It doesn’t seem like SC has any hard feelings…as he said, the CPD officers were just doing their job, as were my staff – and he even acknowledged the fact that the Capitol Police had to be a bit more nervous since January 6, 2021.
But, he says the whole story went haywire for him when he started seeing the headlines about Triumph pulling off a Capitol Uprising 2.0!
Laughing, but also genuinely shocked, he points out… “An insurrection consists of interrupting the lawful action of Congress and calling for the blood of elected leaders, all to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.”
He added all the Triumphs and co. were doing was “Puppetry in the first degree!!! It was hijinks with goof intent.” Hilariously he admits the cops should call them for “hijacking a former Conan [O’Brien] bit.”
‘Late Show’ staff fired outside House Minority Leader’s offices Kevin McCarthy be p. Lauren Boebert – and the cops say they had no ID to be there alone.
Colbert has yet to reveal the footage – perhaps it’s in custody – but you can bet he’ll have a blast when the time comes.
