The government’s Covid-19 task force announced on Friday May 14 that people would be allowed to assemble in groups of no more than two from May 16. This figure is down from the current five.

Working from home will also remain the default. Employers must ensure that employees who can work from home do so, and social gatherings at workplaces will be banned.

Meal breaks can be taken in the workplace, but staff should refrain from mingling with colleagues when their masks are removed.

Wedding banquets will have to cease, but a special arrangement can be made for those with wedding plans this Sunday. They can continue, but with mandatory pre-event testing for all guests.

Other activities that will also not be permitted include intensive indoor exercise classes or individual and group indoor physical and sports activities.
