A South African man suffered horrific injuries after being viciously attacked by a shark while surfing along the country’s coast this week… and the photos of his injuries are gruesome.
It happened Wednesday in Jeffreys Bay … when at 40 years old Jason lammers had a terrifying encounter in the water with a shark.
Lammers’ surf buddy, Mark Krieger, tell TMZ Sports the scene was very scary … saying that when he pulled up to the surf spot Lammers was out of the water bleeding profusely in a nearby parking lot after being bitten.
According to National Institute of the Sea and Rescue, Lammers suffered injuries to his right leg and torso – and in the photos Krieger took of the injuries, you can see it all looked pretty serious.
The photos show that Lammers had deep bite marks in his body – and in one of the photos you can see the shark even took a piece of Lammers’ surfboard while trying to nibble it.
There is good news, however… Krieger says that after Lammers was treated by the NSRI and transported to a nearby hospital, he is doing well!
In fact, Krieger tells us her boyfriend is in such a good mood – they made him a shark attack cake to celebrate the recovery !!!
Meanwhile, authorities in the area have closed the beach following the attack … and the NSRI has warned surfers and swimmers to be careful in the area going forward.
Our sincere thanks to
