Sharon tateThe flesh and blood of the person remains adamantly opposed to the proposed release of one of the Manson family members … the family that slaughtered his sister and unborn child.
Debra tate pressured the governor of California Gavin Newsom difficile … asking him to reject the recommendation for release from the California Parole Board Leslie Van Houten.
Debra wrote a letter to the Guv – obtained by TMZ – setting out all of her reasons why the Manson family murderer should remain behind bars for the rest of his life.
Van Houten, 70, assassinated Rosemary and Leno LaBianca in 1969, the day after the massacre at Sharon’s … and that of Leslie has just been judged fit for release.
Debra doubts that Leslie has been rehabilitated and says … “the danger of letting these people out of prison is still present and real. I’m afraid, not just for myself and other family members who might be targeted, but for the society.”
Debra does not accept the argument that members of the Manson family are no longer a risk to society now that they are in their seventies, saying, “Age does not matter to psychopathology. There is no cure for the sociopath. The disposition to commit violent crimes has not expired. And criminals do not retire. “
For Leslie, this is the fourth time the council has recommended that she release her … the three previous attempts were rejected by the highest ruler of the state.
The parole board’s conclusion now points to a 120-day legal review, after which Newsom will have 30 days to make the final decision on Van Houten’s fate.
