SFA’s New Portal Lets You Browse Grants, Over 500 FinTech Jobs
The Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) today launched a grants and jobs portal.
The portal currently has more than 500 job offers and will allow job seekers to access the latest job offers, available scholarships, relevant training opportunities and the latest news from the FinTech sector.
SFA has also collaborated with organizations, including higher education institutions, to generate content on the portal.
In addition, the Grants and Jobs portal will highlight various programs available as part of the SGUnited training and skills programs.
According to the latest Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report released on June 19, investment in Singapore-based FinTech companies climbed year-over-year to S $ 650 million, a 19% increase from the first semester 2020.
Amid the uncertainties and disruptions of COVID-19, Singapore’s FinTech industry has demonstrated resilience and is poised to bounce back quickly from the pandemic as financial institutions accelerate their digital transformation journey and more customers adopt digital solutions.
Since the onset of COVID-19 and following a survey of its members in March 2020, SFA has evolved rapidly and has worked closely with key industry stakeholders to gradually introduce a range of timely and targeted initiatives.
These initiatives take the form of monetary and non-monetary assistance to help FinTech companies maintain jobs and facilitate business growth despite disruption to normal business activities.
“COVID-19 has been devastating for all markets and sectors. As FinTech companies face significant challenges arising from the pandemic, it is encouraging to see the FinTech ecosystem stand in solidarity with FinTech companies to protect jobs and grow the sector, ”said Chia Hock Lai, President of SFA .
Patrick Tay, Assistant Secretary General of the NTUC and Executive Secretary of the Banking and Financial Services Union (BFSU) called the initiative an “opportunity”.
“As we approach the next normal, technology will be essential to help businesses and workers adapt to new lifestyles. This new portal will help employers and job seekers to find potential talent or career opportunities, and access up-to-date information on training and grants in just a few clicks, ”he added.
