If you’ve ever wondered who tracks down poachers and pirates in international waters and brings them to justice … you watch him and he has a crazy story to tell.
Captain Peter Hammarstedt joined “TMZ Live” on Friday to give us the inside scoop on his crew’s frightening, high-stakes mission to track down an illegal fishing vessel called the Thunder. He says they spent over 100 days in dangerous, iceberg-filled water, and their efforts are the subject of the new documentary, “Chasing the Thunder.”
The captain explained why his organization, the Sea Shepherd Society, was looking for “the world’s most notorious poaching vessel” and details the extreme conditions that his vessel, Bob Barker, struggled to track and try to capture.
The chase crossed 3 oceans and covered over 10,000 nautical miles… and you must see Captain Pete’s revelation of how it ended. It’s absolutely wild and shows you the kind of people he was up against there.
The documentary is available now on Discovery +. You can also check out the full Captain’s interview on Friday’s episode of “TMZ Live”.
