Proud LA Rapper Saweetie was present for the bittersweet moment Nipsey Hussle posthumously received his Hollywood star on the Walk of Fame…and thinks the honor should be one of the biggest in the world.
Saweetie spoke to our TMZ Hip Hop team on Tuesday at the ceremony, telling us that before she got her own taste of the musical big hit, she worked as a Marathon model for Nip’s clothing line.
The big ceremony honor nip served as a looping moment for Saweetie, at times calling the festivities “overflowing” as she bottled up her emotions.
On the positive side, she says, the Nip star — in addition to her flagship Marathon store and now her own day in the city of LA — will attract positive tourism to California and the West Coast and, in her mind, should qualify for the title of “8th Wonder of the World!!!”
The Icy Girl wasn’t the only rapper in attendance for the ceremony, as the All Money In team of Nipsey, Roddy Ricch and JA also happened to celebrate the life and accomplishments of the late rapper Crenshaw.
Saweetie has been hard at work finalizing her debut album…and today’s events could probably provide a whiff of inspiration.
