San Diego Man Threatens to Jump Off Top of Roller Coaster
A guy threatens to jump off a roller coaster in San Diego … and authorities have so far failed to denigrate him.
It’s currently happening in what appears to be Belmont Park, atop the Giant Dipper attraction – also known as the Mission Beach Roller Coaster. As you can see, there is a man up there at the highest peak (which would reach about 75 feet), looking out.
He’s not in a car – it doesn’t seem like the ride is even working right now, but somehow … he made his way to the top and screamed, has been making threats and acting erratically for at least an hour now, according to eyewitnesses. We’re told many in the field think he’s ready to jump … and firefighters and police are on the scene.
We’re told the guy was pacing around as negotiators tried to talk to him, but so far … no sign of his cooperation. Witnesses also tell us that the man shouted that he was 21 and that he was “not crazy”. There are about 100 people scattered around to watch.
It’s a sticky situation obviously – a fall from there would probably kill him, so people running on that point don’t want to scare him.
We contacted the police for more details … so far no word in return.
Our sincere thanks to
