Ringo starr celebrates 81 trips around the sun, and since we caught the legend on the day he was born … we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to find out which version of his legendary band he loves the most.
The iconic Beatles drummer was walking through Beverly Hills Park on Wednesday, where he received all manner of screams and requests for selfies to help ring (o) on his 81st birthday. Like the man knight that he is … Sir Ringo has compelled everyone in their path.
Anyway, check out the clip … we were curious as to which Beatles era is best in their eyes and ears. We were within earshot of him and we wondered why we weren’t just doing it – the break-in, that is – on the road ??? Okay, it was a sidewalk, but close enough.
Turns out Mr. Starr is a fan of the days when they finished “Sgt. Pepper’s’… but a bit before“ Abbey Road ”, and everything else that followed.
Make a wild guess – there’s really only one correct answer here.
As to why he chose that particular era – it has to do with chemistry and friendliness.
Apparently that’s around this time that Ringo felt the 4 were at their most fabulous … really playing together as a band again. Excellent insight into the history of the Beatles.
Oh, and we didn’t forget to sing Ringo “Happy Birthday” – and the rest of the fans who were there either.
Yes, they sang the wrong version, but Ringo was always about peace and love. Peace and love!!!
