Thin Jxmmihalf of the rap duo Rae Sremmurd – had a not-so-great reception when he landed in Los Angeles… after authorities discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest.
LAX law enforcement sources told TMZ … when Slim flew in from Canada on Sunday, Customs and Border Patrol agents arrested him. We’re told Slim had a warrant out of Georgia stemming from a prior arrest involving possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
We are told that Georgia authorities have already asked a judge to authorize the extradition from Los Angeles to Georgia. He is currently being held in Los Angeles without bond. Much is at stake… the maximum sentence in the Georgia case is 30 years in prison.
That’s not the only legal issue he’s facing… TMZ broke the story, Slim Jxmmi has been arrested back in January for assault and battery after an alleged fight with his girlfriend.
We talk with him in March after a workout at Dogpound Gym in West Hollywood, and he told us he was looking forward to making some positive changes in his life and, “No more stupid bullshit.”
Jxmmi’s attorney, Steve Sadow, says it all happened because of miscommunication, telling us, “Nearly two years ago, Aaquil pleaded for a marijuana-related offense in the county of Cobb, Ga. He was placed on probation. In early June 2022, the mother of his child filed a false complaint with the Cobb County Police Department, which led to the issuance of a warrant for stop.”
He continues: “Aaquil was not arrested on the basis of this warrant. Instead, a Cobb County magistrate held a hearing on July 20, 2022 and dismissed the warrant. Unfortunately, the Cobb County Probation Office was not notified that the arrest warrant had been dismissed and therefore failed to withdraw their probation violation warrant. When Aaquil returned from Canada to the Los Angeles airport, he was arrested under the probation violation warrant. We expect that warrant to be withdrawn around the next day, and then Aaquil will be released.
The whole saga is clearly not over yet.
