R.Kelly has previously been prosecuted for allegedly abusing a minor – an infamous 2008 case in which she never testified… but that’s all about to change now as he heads for trial again.
The disgraced singer, who was once convicted of sex crimes in New York and faces 30 years behind bars, has another day ahead of him in court. Next Monday, his federal trial in Chicago — for which he faces similar charges and sentencing — will begin.
In addition to the 4 accusers in this Chicago case – all of whom will testify – the woman Kelly was accused of urinating on tape at age 14, among other heinous crimes, is also expected to speak. .to talk about the ’08 case and her experience with him in general.
According to new court records, cited by PAprosecutors say alleged unidentified victim at the time – now in his 30s – will respond to allegations that R. Kelly rigged the 2008 case in an attempt to obstruct justice … including paying/threatening this woman at the time.
Many will remember… Kelly was acquitted and released, largely because the alleged victim refused to cooperate and testify. Now, it looks like she’ll explain why this happened, from her perspective, for the very first time. His identity has remained hidden all these years.
There’s more…these new documents indicate that prosecutors plan to replay that same 2008 VHS tape in court as the ongoing trial gets under way. In addition to this, there would be at least 3 other videos presented as evidence in court. It is unclear if they all relate to 2008.
Prosecutors allege R. Kelly had sex with/recorded the alleged 2008 victim hundreds of times between 1998 and 2000, a time when she was just 13 years old. They also acknowledge that some of these sex tapes were stolen and sold on the streets.
R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty, insisting from the start that his the accusers lie.
