R. Kelly Allegedly Attacked by Inmate Inside Chicago Prison
R. Kelly got a taste of prison justice – frustrated inmate attacked and jumped Kelly in his cell … TMZ has learned.
Federal law enforcement sources with first-hand knowledge tell us that the incident recently occurred at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago where Kelly was sitting on her bed when another inmate entered her cell and was started hitting Kelly.
Our sources claim that the inmate launched the attack because he was angry with the detention center being repeatedly locked up, in large part due to Kelly’s protesters outside the prison.
We are told that the fight did not last long, and it is not known if another inmate or guards broke it. Our sources say Kelly was examined by a doctor, who determined the singer was okay … no broken bones or serious injuries.
A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told TMZ … that it could not comment on the conditions of detention or the medical status of a detainee for reasons of confidentiality and security. We also contacted Kelly’s lawyer, Steven greenberg, for comment, but declined to discuss the incident and said Kelly had been a model inmate.
Back in 2019 when Kelly went to at Cook County Jail, the facility’s 6,100 inmates had to stay seated whenever Kelly was on the road there.
