Cary Elwes got way more than he bargained for when a day of yard work turned into a helicopter ride to the hospital after a nasty rattlesnake bite.
Sources connected to Cary tell TMZ … the “Princess Bride” star was airlifted to Ronald Reagan Medical Center at UCLA on Saturday after being bitten by a rattlesnake near his Malibu home. We’re told he was working outdoors when the accident happened – it’s unclear where he was bitten.
Anyway…our sources say it was serious enough that Cary needed immediate medical attention, as we were told people around him thought it was a life-threatening injury.
The good news… Cary will make a full recovery and got the help he needed in time.
Cary was notoriously injured and hospitalized on the set of “PB” — not once, but twice in fact…he was accidentally knocked unconscious during a fake knockout scene and required stitches. He also broke his toe at one point and hobbled for much of filming.
So, yeah… the guy is historically a soldier, but even the toughest of them can’t take a bite from a poisonous snake. Of course you have to imagine Zack Snyderis glad to hear that too.
Cary was recently cast in ZS’s new film “Rebel Moon” – with a lead role, no less – and production began last week…something Cary himself was thrilled about.
