Of course, the current monarch, queen elizabethalso had words and pictures for her grandson… but this might be the most royal birthday message ever.
Photos posted on Her Majesty’s family account are accompanied by the said caption… “Prince William Arthur Philip Louis is the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. He was born at 9.03pm on June 21, 1982 , at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London.”

Of note… William’s brother, Prince Harry, hasn’t posted any birthday wishes yet. It’s still early days on the West Coast, but it’ll be interesting to see if he mentions the milestone in the middle of their breakup.
Apparently Prince William and Kate Middleton will celebrate “in style” with a joint 40th anniversary party at Windsor Castle.
His birthday was back in January, but the celebrations were reportedly canceled due to COVID-19.
Interestingly, the Duke’s birthday will not be marked this year by the flight of the Union Jack over government buildings. This honor is now reserved for the birthdays of the Queen and Prince Charles.
