michael jacksonchildren, Prince and Paris-Jacksonhonored him in a special way… sharing kind words as they performed a tribute performance of his Broadway musical at the Tony Awards.
The duo presented a performance of “MJ the Musical” – the Broadway show about the making of Jackson’s Dangerous World Tour in 1992.
Prince told the audience, “A lot of people seem to think our dad, Michael Jackson, changed popular music forever,” before adding, “And, who are we to disagree?”
“But what people might not know is that he loved musicals, both in film and on stage. That’s why we’re so incredibly honored to present the first nominee of the night for best musical, ‘MJ’, which, using many of his signature hits, examines the complexities and brilliance of our father’s process.”
Paris added that it was a great honor to be on stage to present the musical performance, alongside the actor Myles Frost, who plays their father…and the rest of the cast. The show was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Myles seemed to do their father’s role justice as he also won Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role – his first ever Tony!
