Overview Of The Inland Revenue Board MyTax Site
The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) launched a new online dashboard in December 2020. Called MyTax, it aims to make it easier and simpler to access your tax information.
LHDN also says the new site will help minimize revenue leakage from the country while simultaneously boosting revenue collection.
What does it do?
In a nutshell, MyTax is a one-stop destination for all things taxes. It contains links to file your income tax returns, pay stamp duty, and even check the status of your income tax refund. You can access all of these services from the ezHasil Services menu on the left of the screen.
Of course, you will need an existing ezHasil account to use these services. If you have one, all you need to do is log in with your username and passwords. Otherwise, you need to go directly to your nearest LHDN branch (also available at any UTC) to obtain a registration PIN.
Navigate in MyTax
The MyTax home screen basically shows you everything you need to know about your tax status at a glance.
Basically there are seven main sections that you can access from the Home screen which are listed on the left side of the screen. Besides your tax status displayed on your home screen (dashboard), you can also access your mailbox, profile section, tax status, menu page and even a chatbot.
Here’s how to find the information you need about your tax status on your home screen:
- How much you paid in income tax last year
- How much you received on your last income tax refund
- This section tells you if you are not allowed to leave the country due to unpaid taxes or government loans
- Basic information on when your tax return was last filed and when the next filing period begins
- A simple visual representation of how much tax you’ve paid since 2018
- A list of your most used LHDN services
- Buttons for your notifications, basic information page and MyTax status
Meanwhile, all the services offered by LHDN are listed in the ezHasil Services menu on the left side of the screen after your personal dashboard section.
People wishing to file their income tax returns will probably use the e-filing and ByrHASIL features the most, although there are also other sections for calculating your monthly tax deductions (PCBs), updating your tax and tax information. other sections related to data privacy and taxation. regulations.
Below are some basic usage guidelines for some of the main pages that you may need to use.
Your basic information
To get here you will need to click on the silhouette icon at the top right of the dashboard (as shown in the image). This page presents you with information relating to your tax status. This is useful if you are verifying that LHDN has your correct information in the file. You can also use it to quickly verify your income tax number in case you need it in a pinch.
You should also verify your bank account details that have been registered with the LHDN. This is where your income tax refund goes, so you don’t want to miss it just because it’s sent to the wrong account.
The content of the Status section of the digital certificate is unclear. Clicking on it gets you nowhere. According to the FAQ and Help sections, it simply lets you know if your password is still valid or needs to be changed.
Finally, there is the e-Kemaskini page. Here you can update your personal information in case anything changes or is listed incorrectly on the site. However, it looks like the link is broken at the time of writing.
How do you file income tax returns using MyTax?
For most users, this will be the primary focus of using MyTax, so we’ve got you covered.
To file your tax return (which begins in March of each year), click on the e-filing service on the left side of the screen. You will be taken to a simple list of LHDN related online services.
Click on the e-Form link, which should be the first in the list. This will take you to the ezHasil tax filing site that you should be quite familiar with already.
LHDN also links a number of its other online resources through MyTax. These include the payment of stamp duty (STAMPS), electronic residence certificate (e-residence) and a monthly tax deduction calculator (MTD) for employers (PCB calculator).
