Jussie smollettThe alleged “assailants” have recovered some of their property seized by cops over a year ago – including a large gun – but the judge said they still had to wait for a few more infamous items.
Abel and Ola Osundairo obtained court permission to retrieve many of their personal effects that were no longer considered relevant to the Jussie case … including a shotgun, safe, household items and their clothing.
However, according to legal documentation … authorities still hold several items related to the alleged 2019 fake attack on Smollett – including a black mask and red hat.
As you remember, the brothers were seen on security footage buy some of the items the day before the “attack” on Jussie.
The brothers’ lawyer, Gloria Rodriguez, says they both went to the Chicago PD evidence collection point earlier this month to get their things … but left with less than they thought they had.
As you can see … Abel is carrying 2 suitcases, but we are told that one is empty. That’s because, according to Rodriguez, another shotgun was misfiled in the paperwork, but they’re hoping to get it back soon.
Additionally, Rodriguez says there’s a third gun – a 9MM – that the cops kept because it was in the brothers’ safe. According to legal documents, prosecutors and Jussie’s defense are allowed to examine the contents of the safe before returning to Abel and Ola. The brothers have already recovered the safe.
We are told that Smollett’s camp has not yet had a chance to review the remaining security items for his next criminal trial.
As we reported … Jussie is still facing 6 charges for allegedly lying to the cops.
