Nipsey HussleThe murder trial continued with the testimony of another man who was allegedly shot by Eric Holder the day Nipsey was killed – although he kept a fairly low profile on the stand.
Kerry Lathan was shot in the back in the same incident where Nipsey died. While prosecutors asked Lathan a variety of questions, he didn’t seem to want to go into specifics — particularly when it came to identifying who was present and naming names.
At one point, prosecutors released a video allegedly showing Lathan arriving at Marathon Clothing that day, but Lathan did not confirm that it was him in the clip, saying, “I don’t know anything, I don’t see anything.”
He testified when the shooting began he heard “many” gunshots, but did not identify who he believed pulled the trigger.
Prosecutors asked Lathan, “You don’t want to testify about what happened? to which Lathan replied, “It’s true.”
As noted, Holder reportedly told Nipsey, “You’re done” before killing the rapper. Lathan was asked if he heard anything said during the shooting, but he replied, “He wasn’t talking to me.”
During opening statements on Wednesday, prosecutors warned that Lathan may not be very cooperative due to the involvement of Rolling 60 gang members in the case … so his reluctance to be fully open about events is not totally surprising.
The trial will resume on Monday.
