The star of “Ned’s Declassified” Lindsey shaw got some great advice from her “black friend” on how to deal with her TikTok backlash for seemingly mocking black designers – but she’s gone thug and now has a bigger mess to clean up.
Daniel Curtis Lee, who played Lindsey’s onscreen best friend Cookie on the Nickelodeon sitcom, told TMZ… Lindsey contacted him shortly after his inbox was flooded with hateful comments about his deleted video reaction since then to a TikTok dance trend.
He says he specifically advised her that if she were to respond to charges of racism, it would be best if she treated him lightly. Instead, Daniel says Lindsey chose the “way of crying,” which he says only sparked a binge eating.
As we reported, Lindsey said the backlash was so intense that he pushed her to resign social media overall. She posted a tearful video saying the hate was too much to handle.
Lindsey also said the intention of her original video was to highlight the generational differences between Millennials and Gen Z… nothing racial.
Daniel says, in layman’s terms, that his 20 year old friend gave a tasteless opinion, but he does NOT see the 9 words she said as racist.
That being said … Daniel says his reaction video clearly offended people … and he offers advice (AGAIN !!!) on how best to handle this in the future.
