NBA’s Trevor Ariza Accused of Child Abuse, Adamantly Denies Allegations
The mother of Trevor ArizaThe 12-year-old son claims the NBA star has physically abused their child on several occasions and is seeking a restraining order on the child’s behalf, as soon as possible.
But Ariza says the claims are patently bogus – and he fights back at his own court documents.
The Portland Trail Blazers star, 35, has chosen not to participate in the NBA’s takeover in the Orlando bubble – reportedly spending time with his son.
Ariza and the mother of her child, Lana allen, have been locked in a custody battle for some time.
But Allen recently filed new court documents in Los Angeles accusing Ariza of perpetrating a pattern of domestic violence against the child, dating back to 2019.
The details are graphic – but the allegations are that Ariza, a strong professional athlete, has clearly crossed a line in inflicting corporal punishment on at least two occasions.
Allen says she reported the alleged abuse to the LAPD, which documented the alleged injuries and looped back to the Department of Child and Family Services.
In new court documents, Allen seeks a restraining order against Ariza in hopes of keeping her away from the child.
She says the child “fears” his father and is “not safe in his care”.
Ariza has filed a response to the allegations – strongly denying the child abuse charges and promising to clear her name.
Ariza says it was Allen who pulled her away from the child – causing their relationship to break down.
Ariza says, “what’s going on here is actually [Allen’s] abuse of the minor child by his implacable and cruel conflict of loyalty for [the child], campaign of alienation and selfish attempts to interfere in the father-son relationship. “
According to court documents, a custody trial is scheduled for October. Both parties seek custody of the child.
