- Buyer models in specific floors and areas
- The main flow or movement path of a buyer
- Traffic trends by time of day, month and year
By analyzing the above data, a mall operator can easily identify when their mall is the busiest, how customers usually walk, and what catches their attention.
Rely on more vision-based solutions
In addition to simple customer follow-up, Tapway can also provide its AI vision solutions to manufacturers to identify problems in their manufacturing process or detect faults. Combined with IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, VisionTrack can detect a faulty product and a robot can easily choose the defective product of the production line.
With data collected from the assembly line, manufacturers can also identify methods and ways to improve or speed up their manufacturing process. And these are done without relying on manual labor to perform menial tasks as well.
Although the above examples only apply to manufacturers, they can still be used on a smaller scale. For example, retailers can use data collected by both PeopleTrack Vision and VisionTrack to see where customers are going, what products they are buying, and whether a shelf needs to be restocked before a product runs out.
In addition to providing practical solutions for clients and customers, AI vision-based solutions can also be used to improve security and reduce cases of fraud.
PLUS Malaysia, one of the largest motorway operators in Malaysia, is also one of Tapway’s customers and uses Tapway’s VehicleTrack solution on its highways. But unlike PeopleTrack, VehicleTrack specifically trains the AI system to spot vehicles.
And the VehicleTrack system can easily and quickly capture the vehicle’s license plate, vehicle type, and even detect vehicle make. So, if the user commits potential fraud by paying with a different card than the one they used when entering the freeway, the operator has the option of using that information to investigate the case.
According to Tapway, the VehicleTrack solution was successful in identifying vehicles and capturing plate numbers at > 99.4% accuracy of characters in all outdoor conditions as well. Not to mention, this solution can help toll operators automate toll payment by classifying vehicles and reduce the need for manual labor performing repetitive tasks. Thus, this serves as the building blocks that will enable the implementation of the Single Lane Free Flow System (SLFF) in the future.
Leverage AI for Faster, Better, and Simpler Processes
The Tapway team also told us that as long as you have the right camera and the right servers, you can use their AI solutions regardless of brands. They also believe their AI-powered vision solutions can help businesses improve their processes and better understand their customers.
That said, they understand that there are still companies that are reluctant to embrace AI and the use of big data in their business.
