3:45 p.m. PT – Morgan is no longer this week’s ‘SNL’ musical guest – he says the show informed him he had violated COVID-19 protocol and would not be happening.
The country singer admits his actions last weekend were “shortsighted” and put people at risk, and he seems sorry to lose his opportunity and let down his fans and country music.
He says the ordeal has caused him to reflect on some areas of his personal life that he believes need improvement, and he plans to take some time to work on himself.
The Good News – Wallen Says ‘SNL’ Honcho Lorne Michaels was kind and encouraging, and told him that they could possibly have him in the future … so, something for him and his fans to look forward to.
Country music star Morgan wallen – should be the musical guest this week on “Saturday Night Live” – was super dangerous this weekend, and now the question … will “SNL” take him off the plug?
The “This Bar” frontman was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the football game against Texas A&M on Saturday, and became the star of several TikTok videos afterward as he was very close and personal with the celebrating fans.
The clips show him in a bar – snapping photos and kissing women – at a house party, in the backseat of a fan’s car and more … and in all of them he’s maskless. and ignoring social distancing.
Wallen was immediately criticized online for his reckless behavior during the pandemic – and the number of coronavirus cases on the rise again – with people suggesting he “will spread COVID to all the girls in Bama.”
Morgan is set to be the musical guest just days away when “SNL” shoots the second episode of its 46th season, which premiered on Saturday.
The country star’s obvious failure to take security precautions against COVID-19 begs the question of how ‘SNL’ will keep its cast and crew safe in the 8H studio … and keep the Bill burr– hosted the show to become the next Rose Garden ceremony. The real question … will Morgan be allowed to perform in the studio?
We contacted “SNL” … no word yet.
