Mike posner let fear drive him to train for months to climb Mount Everest, but his fear had nothing to do with climbing the highest mountain on Earth – instead he was more scared NOT to do it.
The EDM star told us all about his epic adventure when he joined us on Tuesday on “TMZ Live” … explaining that the idea to tackle Everest first came to him 2 weeks ago after completing his epic 2019 journey across the United States.
Instead of relaxing after this accomplishment, Mike said he was terrified of ever waking up a “fat, old and white” who had only done one cool thing – this 6 months of walking from New Jersey to Cali. Getting to the 28,000-foot Himalayan summit would definitely solve this problem !!!
And, he says the climb was actually harder than he thought… especially mentally. The point is, many mountaineers – far more skilled than Posner – die trying to conquer Everest… so he was quick to donate props to the people who helped him do it.
Mike told us he was thrilled to be back much closer to sea level, and grateful that his trip to Everest raised around $ 230,000, and cash, for the Detroit Justice Center.
As for the sequel, maybe some new music, but the singer-songwriter first revealed the next trip he would be taking… a 3 week trip that is the complete opposite of mountain climbing. fueled by adrenaline.
