Shaun Weiss, the goalie from the movie ‘Mighty Ducks’, pulled off a hat trick: complete a court-ordered drug program, have a criminal case closed … and most importantly, get his life back on track.
The Yuba County District Attorney’s Office in California praised Shaun for successfully completing the drug court program. As we reported, Shaun struggled with addiction for years… but he was recently in court – dressed new in a three-piece suit, mind you – proudly receiving his judge’s certificate.
He entered the program in March 2020 after being arrested for burglary.
The prosecutor’s office said Shaun had “shown persistence during his recovery complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He had to relocate several times from treatment and life transition programs. He underwent reconstructive dental surgery and a close family member suffered a serious accident during his treatment. “
The prosecutor added, “Shaun found a job and traveled across the country making appearances and signing autographs. He received tremendous support from friends and fans of the character, Goldberg, he played in the 1992 hit “The Mighty Ducks”. “
To stay on the right track, his burglary case was dismissed.
As we reported … Shaun looked unrecognizable in January 2020 when he was arrested for residential burglary. The cops said they found Shaun trying to steal stuff from a car in someone’s garage.
Since then, Shaun has been getting the job done and slowly getting his life back on track – from get sober shine with pride thanks to it new set of choppers.
Three cheers for Goldberg, and a great comeback story !!!
