Matthew McConaughey Seems terribly gubernatorial for his 4th of July message to the United States – but his post also sounds very appealing… let’s unite and maybe sing about it.
The actor – and rumored to be the governor of Texas – just posted a video addressed to those United States … and it’s full of that classic MMC charm, but under all the charisma and showmanship Matt has it. makes a great feeling he’s trying to convey.
Look at it… the guy talks about how we as a country have to constantly remind ourselves that we are striving for an ideal and that we should work at it in harmony with each other. It even suggests what looks like a new national anthem.
Of course, the backdrop to his remarks here is a lot of renewed chatter about what America means today … and for whom. Consider Macy Graythe call for a redesigned flag, and more recently … when the Olympic hammer thrower Gwen berry turned his back on him on the flag / anthem.
In Matt’s eyes… these feelings are not something to be avoided, but something to be embraced – and to work towards improving for the good of all. He recognizes that we should try to be as inclusive in our individual activities… because it really benefits everyone, and reminds us that we are Americans, united as one. We know … there is political prose written everywhere.
Speaking of which… Matt has slipped into favor lately in a hypothetical race between himself and the incumbent governor. Greg Abbott (a Republican) – but not by much, just 1 point.
He still does a lot better than the real politicians who are rumored to be already about to show up as well … including Beto o’rourke and Don Huffins. So all things considered, he’s considered the favorite to take on Abbott.
And, after a post like this … we think his numbers will go up.
