Marilyn Monroe’s Pearls from Last Ever Photo Shoot Heading to Auction
Marilyn monroePearls from her latest photoshoot may be in your collection – historical jewelry is coming to the auction block.
Marilyn wore faux pearl earrings and donned a faux pearl necklace for photo spread – known as “Last Sitting” – along with a legendary fashion photo Bert stern.
The photos were taken just 6 weeks before his death, and are up for sale via online auction house Gotta Have Rock and Roll, where they are expected to make a pretty penny.
The jewelry is cool, just like the Nikon camera Bert used to take thousands of photos that day, and it’s also up for auction. While Vogue Magazine supplied the accessories, clothing, jewelry and accessories … the camera was Bert’s personal.
Marilyn even used the camera as an accessory, spontaneously grabbing the Nikon while Bert grabbed a spare camera and continued to walk away. The auction house expects the Nikon to earn $ 60,000 because of its place in pop culture.
The pearls should bring in $ 50,000 for the earrings and $ 8,000 for the necklace.
Part of Marilyn’s extensive wardrobe is also part of the auction … we are told that a dress and shawl should cost $ 40,000 and a pair of black and white plaid pants could cost 15,000 $. MM owned and wore the clothes.
the auction opens July 22 … good luck !!!
