Bob SagetClose friends say they’ve been overwhelmed by the fan reaction since losing him earlier this year – and now they’re paying those fans a special tribute.
Lori Loughlinwho rarely makes public appearances these days, joined John Stamos, John Mayer and Jeff Ross for an Instagram Live chat about their dearly deceased friend, and Lori spoke about what she calls the “most touching part” of their grieving process.
She spoke of strangers telling her how sorry they were for her loss, but also how much Bob meant to them. She said he “was everybody’s father, part of everybody’s childhood.”
The 4 of them were talking about the new Netflix special, “Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute”. It was taped at WeHo’s Comedy Store in late January, and Mayer said it was “the first time we got together where our heads started to grow around this new reality.”
He also described it as “that great moment between acceptance, but still a lot of pain.”
The tribute show also includes jim carrey, Chris Rock and several other famous friends of Bob.
Jeff said: “[Bob] I’ve always wanted a special on Netflix,” Ross, 56, said at one point during the live stream. “I don’t think anyone’s funeral has been shown on TV since Lady Diana is dead, so the fact that it’s happening now for Bob is a bit bittersweet, but I think he would be proud of it.”
The special was released Friday on Netflix.
