L.A. Dodgers Postponing Championship Parade Due To Pandemic
No parade will come with the LA Dodgers’ World Series ring – at least not yet – the team says they are postponing the celebration due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Dodgers made the announcement on Wednesday … saying it just wasn’t safe enough to let fans pack the streets of Los Angeles for a party.
“As the wait for a world championship is finally over,” team officials said, “a celebration worthy of our big fans and the city of Los Angeles will unfortunately have to wait until she be sure to do it. “
No makeup date is scheduled at this time … but the team added: “We can’t wait to celebrate together!”
Of course, the decision to delay World Series celebrations comes just weeks after the LA Lakers announced they postponement of the NBA championship parade plans too.
But, there might still be hope for at least SOME kinds of festivities in common …
After James lebron City officials pleaded for a parade on Tuesday night … the mayor of LA Eric Garcetti said he was open to finding something.
“Let’s talk about it,” Garcetti told the Lakers superstar. “I am ready for whatever is safe.”
Now go and celebrate it safe for now.
