Kobe bryants legacy could be to enter the wine industry – Vanessa bryant just filed four new trademark applications for a wine named after the late NBA Hall of Famer.
TMZ Sports confirmed … Vanessa submitted documents on November 5 to obtain trademarks that indicate her aspirations to enter the wine business … with “Mamba Vino”, “Mamba Vino 2024”, “Mamba Vino 8” and “Mamba Vino 24” among the sentences listed, as first reported by Josh Gerben.
Kobe Bryant, LLC – which is run by Vanessa – is listed as the claimant on the record … with Bryant signing all of the documents.
This move is the latest in a series of business initiatives by Vanessa … as we previously reported, last month she registered a trademark for digital collectibles, websites, boot camps, streaming platforms, podcasts, TV shows, movies, documentaries and music … as well as sports cards, containers of food / drink and t-shirts.
The four new brand names include one of Kobe’s many nicknames, “vino” … as many people believed his playing improved with age.
The names also pay homage to the numbers Kobe wore – 8 and 24 – of course both numbers are withdrawn by the Lakers and hang on to the rafters at Staples Center.
Vanessa would join a growing industry … a long list of former athletes such as Drew bledsoe, Yao Ming, Jeff Gordon, Wayne gretzky, and Terrell Owens all take up space in the wine business … but like everything else about Kobe, we’re sure this product could fly off the shelves.
