Keyshia Cole lost another family member this year – his adoptive father just passed away from COVID-19 … just months after his mother died.
The singer shared the news on Monday, saying Leon Cole – the only father she has ever known – has lost her battle with the virus. Her tribute to him is touching, as she underscored her dedication to her throughout her childhood… even though she was not his blood born daughter.
Keyshia writes: “He made sure (even though he was not my biological father) to keep a stable base and a roof over all of our heads during our upbringing !!!!” KC went on to shout that Leon worked hard to provide for his family – while also giving valuable lessons about religion, values, relationships (with women, in particular) and duty.
She adds: “Seriously the most loving guy I have ever known. And I will miss him so much! Hate that this has happened !!! And that I have now lost two beautiful souls within a few months of one of the other. “
The death of his father comes a few months after his biological mother, Frankie, reason for death drug overdose last summer. She had reconciled with her mother in recent years, much of which has been documented on television.
As Keyshia alludes … her parents gave her up for adoption at a young age, and the Coles took her in and raised her in Oakland, Calif. … and introduced her to music as well.
