Kamala harris innovates a lot… the latest being that she is the first vice president of the United States to demonstrate in solidarity with LGBTQ rights.
La Veep and her husband, Doug Emhoff, took to the streets on Saturday in Washington DC for the Pride March. There was no notice she would show, so it was a big surprise to walkers when she showed up in a pink blazer. Doug was wearing a t-shirt with a rainbow lettering on it. They both walked for about a block.
Harris spoke at the pride rally in the capital, urging Congress to pass the equality law. She said: “We need to make sure our transgender community and our youth are all protected. We still need employment and housing protections.”
Le Veep added at the rally at Freedom Plaza: “There is still a lot of work to be done, and I know we are committed. “
Pride marches are being held across the country… another sign of the pandemic thaw.
