When it comes to the fight against abortion, imagery is everything, and protesters took that to heart on Wednesday night when they wore ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ costumes and marched to the court judge’s home supreme. Amy Coney Barrett.
A small group of pro-choice protesters marched to Falls Church, Va., to make their feelings known about the proposed SCOTUS advisory that would outright overturn Roe v. Wade.
One of the protesters was keen to distinguish ACB’s choice to give birth to 5 children from other women, saying her devout Catholicism distorted her view of the law, saying: ‘Not everyone wants to have 5 children , or 4 children or 1 child.”
There were other demonstrations at the judges’ homes. Protesters showed up earlier this week at the judges’ home Kavanaugh and Alitoas well as the Chief Justice Robert.
It is not clear if the draft opinion – which has the signature of 5 judges – will be the one that becomes the official decision, but there is evidence that it will indeed be the case. There hasn’t been a subsequent draft circulated among the judges since the February draft — this according to Politico — and that’s a strong indication that the February draft could be close to the final release.
The High Court is expected to deliver its decision next month. There are 26 states prepared to severely restrict or eliminate abortion rights if Roe is overthrown.
