Johnny Manziel Says The Rock Can Save the XFL, ‘But I’m Retired, Dude’
Johnny Manziel LOVE does it The rock just bought the XFL – but don’t expect to see the QB sign a contract anytime soon.
“I’m retired, man,” Manziel said TMZ Sports outside of Saddle Ranch in Los Angeles on Friday.
Manziel is only 27 – and brought some solid TV ratings to the CFL on his return in 2018/2019 … The XFL of Rock run Johnny to try and stimulate interest?
“Look, whatever The Rock gets is going to be gold, as always,” Manziel said… “But, I think football is a little behind me.”
“I just try to do other things in life that make me happy. That’s it.”
To prove his point, Manziel lit a cigarette – and told us right away: “There is more to life than a bullet.”
The former Heisman Trophy winner and first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft doesn’t completely close the door on a comeback … saying he still trains and practices – but it is very unlikely.
“You never say never, I’m still an athletic guy … but at the end of the day let’s see where the rest of life takes me and we’ll take it from there.”
“Football for me isn’t at the forefront of my mind. It’s just chillin ‘and being one of the brothers.”
Manziel also spoke about his beef with a sports reporter Darren rovell … and explained why this is a long standing problem “that will be fixed someday”.
Oh, and why is Manziel in Los Angeles during a global pandemic without a mask?
“COVID doesn’t want to see me at the end of the day,” Manziel joked … “man, I’m doing worse things this weekend.”
