Jogger Tries Putting Out Arizona Wildfire with His Nikes
Difficult to understand … is it more futile or more dangerous?
A guy named Trevor Murphy was trying to create a firebreak in the midst of the forest fires raging in Phoenix … with his Nikes!
Look at this … Trevor was off for his morning run. He trains for the 100-mile Ultra Marathon in October and runs 10 to 20 miles a day.
He came across a lightning strike fire and tried to stop the fire from spreading on the hiking trail. He had no hoe, no shovel, but he did get a few kicks.
As the meteorologist at the CBS Phoenix branch watched him in shock, Trevor was brushing off the dirt, licking the flames with his shoes.
He didn’t do much to control the flames, and the soles of his shoes melted. To repeat the words of the meteorologist … don’t try this at home.
