Joe Biden, Vice President Pence Together at 9/11 Memorial in NYC
Joe biden and vice-president Mike pence put their differences aside and shared a moment of unity at the solemn ceremony in New York to mark the 19th anniversary of 9/11.
The Democratic presidential candidate and vice president were in the foreground Friday – along with their spouses – at Ground Zero for the 9/11 memorial to commemorate the anniversary of the terrorist attack. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New Jersey Gov. Phil murphy and former mayor of New York Mike Bloomberg were also there to mark the occasion.
Biden walked over to Pence, patted him on the shoulder before they shared a bump on his elbow. Biden also greeted Pence’s wife, Karen, in the same way.
Moments of silence were observed at Ground Zero and the Pentagon. There was also a ceremony to mark the 4th plane that crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers battled the hijackers.
The September 11 attacks left nearly 3,000 dead and over 25,000 injured. Many first responders have fallen seriously ill as a result of their efforts … many have died of cancer from toxic rubble.
The ceremony sounded like it was still fresh. The reality … the emotional impact is always startling.
