Jewelers Using Social Media to Hawk Engagement Rings, Sales Surge
Here’s another thing to add to your f *** – list – people slide into DMs for liking … but not for booty calls, more marry me-buys.
That’s right … with nearly all of us being quarantined and hesitant and / or banned from entering stores these days, lovebirds are starting to flock to the digital space to find our engagement rings – especially on IG and TikTok, which is proving so successful.
Take The Clear Cut, for example – a huge company that has taken to social media to facilitate sales, and we have to say … they’re kinda awesome, because the numbers are climbing.
Co-founder of TCC, Kyle simon, tells TMZ that they have seen a massive 330% increase in their income over the past few months … since they started posting their selection of engagement rings on the ‘Gram and TikTok, of which we are told. says they’ve been hit straight now.
Yes … that means customers literally slip into their DMs to ask questions about specific items they’ve seen that they want to buy. From there, Simon et co. take them to the next phase.
Clear Cut has a huge range of products, but we’re told engagement rings are flying off their digital shelves faster than they can store them … and the more expensive ones they’ve agreed to sell through social media cost around $ 70. k. On average, they return stones of $ 20,000.
Hey, no one said getting married was cheap! Either way, the point is that CCJ now does 80% of its business on Instagram and is also siphoning traffic from its TikTok account. It’s wild.
As to why this happens – especially the more expensive follies we’re told they live – Simon says people’s budgets have changed … no more bifurcating an arm and a leg for places, honeymoons or anything really expensive (at least not right now) … so more people are spending that extra dough on the ring they want to put on someone’s finger.
Our sincere thanks to
