“Danger!” champion Amy Schneider says she’ll take Fox Sports at their word that they intentionally did not cut her first pitch during a Giants game celebrating Pride Day at the stadium.
Amy tells TMZ … “They say the reason they misled their viewers was cross-promotion, nothing to do with me, so I’ll take them at their word.” The show’s director contacted her personally to apologize and reiterate that it had nothing to do with her identity. She believed him and accepted his apology.
Fox Sports declined to show Jeopardy champion Amy Schneider throwing the first pitch on Pride Day during their coverage of the Giants/Dodgers game. Schneider is a trans icon with the 2nd longest winning streak in Jeopardy history. Here is an excerpt from his pitch:pic.twitter.com/wgopQZOak1

ICYMI, Amy, the 1st Openly Transgender “Jeopardy!” champion, was asked to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in the Dodgers/Giants game. The problem was… Amy’s pitch never aired. Instead, Fox Sports ran another first pitch several days earlier… at the hands of Kurt Busch.

Fox Sports said the pitch video was part of a promotional package for an upcoming NASCAR race in Northern California.
They were clear…the intention was not to disrespect Amy, adding that first pitches are rarely shown on the network during games.
