Jelly Belly Founder Offers Wonka-Like Treasure Hunt, Candy Factory Prize
The guy who helped invent Jelly Belly jelly beans is full Gene Wilder in these dark times – promising to give one lucky person their own candy factory if they play their game.
David Klein has started a Willy Wonka-esque scavenger hunt that’s open to anyone in all of these 50 states, and it has the ultimate grand prize … a professional store for producing goodies.
Klein explained some of the contest settings on Tuesday on “TMZ Live” where he also said that anyone who wins the entire enchilada – one of his operating candy factories – will also receive candy-making classes in a university setting. … plus, his own expertise in running the biz.
There is a catch … to play you have to pay $ 50 and you are automatically entered into the Ultimate Factory Lottery. As for the hunt itself, yes, there is a “golden ticket” component involved, and if you find it in your state … you will win $ 5,000 guaranteed.
The details are probably best explained by DK himself from the site he launched just for this new business.
As to why he’s doing it, Dave says it’s his way of helping people get rid of all the turbulence in the country.
Of course, we’ll take some sugar for now. Why not?!
