Less than a day before Jeff Hardy was accused of driving his car drunk on Florida highways…the AEW star took a sip from a cup and joked that whiskey was “my best friend and my worst ennemy”.
The 44-year-old wrestler was caught on camera Sunday night making the comment – about 12 hours before cops said he was driving a white Dodge Charger while seriously intoxicated in Volusia County.
The video shows Hardy in Orlando for a wrestling convention (one in which his brother, Matt Hardyalso attended)…singing for several people inside what appeared to be a conference room.
Jeff, discussing the lyrics to a song, took a big sip from a glass, turned to the crowd and said, “Whiskey is my best friend and my worst enemy!”

Footage shows he then smiled, as people in the audience laughed and shouted.
As noted, Jeff was then arrested around 9 a.m. Monday morning by the Florida Highway Patrol for DUI.
During the arrest, officers say he reeked of alcohol, could barely stand during questioning and admitted to drinking before driving. They added that two breathalyzer tests revealed he had blood alcohol levels of 0.291 and 0.294.
Hardy was charged with felony DUI and two other misdemeanors. He is due in court for a hearing on the matter in July.
The wrestler – who was scheduled to compete in the AEW event this week – has since been suspended by AEW without paying.
